Female trio from Montreal: Bongwater, Sonic Youth are important reference points to this dissonant off key noise rock featuring female vocals with a spoken word delivery. The latter because a standard guitar chord is never used, opting for detuned washes of no wave dissonance. The music smacks of SY’s earlier more abrasive works before they concerned themselves with moving units for David Geffen. Vocls bring to mind the smart delivery of Ann Magnuson more than Kim Gordons mental microphone meltdowns. Good noisey loud goodness.
