Posthumously released recording by prolific Algerian born, French-raised Rachid Taha; true fusion from a musician who was intimate with both Arab and European musical genres; always rhythmic, always interesting; wide range of styles; punchy lyrics

No FCC's; Favorite tracks: 1, 2, 4, 5, 10

*1-Ansit –3:39-- languid rock with strong Maghrebi vibe gathers steam as it goes on

*2—Aita –3:43—uptempo, danceable, lovely rolled r's

3—Minouche –3:22-- French lyrics with lots of lots of rhyme; satiric riff on French pop

*4—Je Suis Africain –3:42-- French lyrics with African vibe; call and response with electronica

*5—Wahdi –3:40-- French and Arabic lyrics –Amina Cadelli makes guest appearance, includes Mexican trumpet; way fusion

6—Insomnia –4:01-- back to Arabic with the Mexican trumpet

7—Andy Waloo—4:18-- mouth harp and weird electronic sounds background this call-out of cultural icons across cultures

8—Striptease –3:29-- a bit of French noir complete with violin and backup chorus

9—Like A Dervish –4:03-- English lyrics! With full disclosure; pure punk

*10—Happy End –3:35-- back to Arabic and early rock mixed with Arab modes and rhythms with some French thrown in; very danceable
