Mexican Death Metal from Sonora Mexico (you know, over the border with Arizona, the part laden with Yaquis, deserts, mountains, the ghost of Pancho Villa, and drug lords). Formed in 1991 as Cirrhosis an almost 30 year evolution has resulted in this new release on Concreto records. This stuff is heavy as hell as you can imagine but progressive too. Old school in its attention to immaculate production, tight heavy head slogging beats, ultra technical soaring guitar leads, and guttural death vocals channeling Pablo Escobar’s most evil fantasies (all en espanol, despite track titles including english). Killer stuff. Play with Sepultura, Brutal Truth, Napalm Death, Anal Cunt, Messhugga, Discordance Axis and (of course!) Brujeria. P.s. never underestimate Latin American passion for death/doom metal, or the Native Americans of the borderlands for that matter.
