Evil big dark rock a la Lard or other Jello Biafra related projects of 90’s. Heavy minor toned tribalism. “Scuzzy” is a good word (that I haven’t heard in far too long). Cool mean indecipherable vocals that turn out to be front woman Julie Bentley (no wonder they are so bizarre and unique, “ferocious”). Bands like Cows, Ghost Hello, Scratch Acid and Jesus Lizard also come to mind correctly as they also come from a bleak midwestern landscape like these guys (Canton Ohio). Great stuff. Now song titles like My Axe (Your Ribcage) and Head Lice are what’s making America great again. 1)* (3:22) starts with spooky samples, dripping water, something breaking, then a good dark searing heavy rock, epic heavy 2) (3:15) starts with acoustic guitar trickery but fools no one as after a mere few seconds sonic assault continues 3) (2:46) mean bass driven pummel 4)* (4:50) slow dark bass led darkness with fuuuucked up vocal treatment, doomy and hopeless, wow 5) (1:53) brief rocker 6) (4:08) another slower doomy bass led bleak rock piece 7) (2:11) driving mean 8)* (6:30) dark experimental feel intro, analog synths swirls, a slow dark messed up song about having head lice ensues good god 9)* (2:27) balls out rocker, killer 10) (4:05) bad assed mid paced head noddin rocker. | ||
