Boisterous, spazzy, and often crude, rap from the dazzlingly lyrical Danny Brown. Poignant, but with plenty of seven-day-weekend hijinks mixed in. Executive produced by Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest. Apparently he dropped a bag on the samples, and it really shows. This is the FCC clean edited version of the album (although it may still be a little suggestive in some parts). Another cutty classic, and a must for fans of Run the Jewels, Freddie Gibbs, and Action Bronson. Start with 2, 8, 3, or 7.
(1.) (2:41) Reflective spoken rap over a loose, rootsy, jazzy drum break and bubby synth
(*2.) (2:47) Hard bars over swingy violin and harp samples
(*3.) (3:04) Chirpy 8-bit with sexed-up, lewd bars. Classic Danny Brown
(4.) (3:57) Gyrating scratchy beat with feature from Run the Jewels. Autobiographical
(5.) (2:35) Psychedelic, loose airy beat with hammering baseline and soundtrack samples
(6.) (3:29) Aggressive gruff rhymes over a looped 70’s rock sample
(*7.) (2:34) Groovy synth beat, great vocal range
(*8.) (2:55) Jazzy proggy beat. Melodic rapping with a soulful feature from Obongjayar
(9.) (2:44) Perky bouncy beat with JPEGMafia singing the hook
(10.) (3:19) Downtempo, serious. Silky R&B vocals courtesy of Blood Orange
(11.) (3:39) Smoking, drinking, sex, and gunplay. Looped wailing, jazzy horns
