Soft, melancholy, perfect lo-fi songs made with just acoustic guitar, voice, and some vocal overdubs. From the gracefully compact and sweetly heartbroken songwriting to the recording hiss, this music almost could've come from an alternate version of the 1920s. A must for fans of Sibylle Baier, Nick Drake, Adrianne Lenker, Gareth Dickson. (Also see Lana Lou's previous EP, Quiet American, filed under "Lani Lou.") Favorites: 1, 5. No FCCs.

1. *(1:46)—Slow fingerpicking. Almost-triumphant vocal harmonies. "I put your sorrow inside a box, and I threw the box away."
2. (1:31)—Medium-slow fingerpicking. "I'm almost obliged to ignore the doubts inside my head, for I have felt happiness with you around."
3. (2:26)—Medium-slow strumming. "These parts of me have died, so you don't have to try anymore."
4. (1:52)—Slow fingerpicking. "Oh sadness, how you took this life from me."
5. *(4:16)—Mid-tempo. "Make me an instrument of peace, so my soul can fly free."
