This album is a tribute to the Hammond B3 organ, the funky soul/jazz/rock classic. Produced from 1955 to 1975, the B3 model is the most popular electric-electronic organ of all time. When paired with the Leslie Tone Cabinet rotating speaker (which by the way, Laurens Hammond disliked) the Hammond produces a distinctive sound, a mainstay in anything from cheesy 50's style soap opera up through the funkiest soul jazz, blues, and gospel music. Listen to these songs (all recommended) and revel in the fat sound. Of note are tracks 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 11, 13
