Compilation of electronic music made by sending the Roland MC505 "Groovebox" out to many different artists. The Groovebox combines features from popular Roland synthesizers (see inside for details) and samplers into a single "band in a box"--that is if that band is Kraftwerk. This compilation celebrates all of the chords, hums, buzzes, arpeggios, high-hats, kicks, beats, burps, and farts that made the 303, 808, and 909 famous. Wide variety of interpretations here, tracks 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 11 are worth checking out to start.
(5:17) **Slap-bass line with syncopated samples givin' the 505 a workout--Done by Moog innovator Jean Jaques Perrey
(3:30) Abstract, rhythmic, repetitive
(3:38) Cheerful, fuzzy synthesizer
(5:22) *Slow and lush--cinematic Air song, low beat, chords, sparse melody
(2:52) *Crunchy driving beat with vocals (FCC "Where the fuck have you been girl?" -1:20)
(3:03) *Buzzing electric funk instrumental
(2:52) Synthesizer funk with vocals and George Jetson car sounds
(2:58) Faster bass and rhythm under discordant synthesizer
(3:56) Synthesizer pop, some vocal samples
(2:19) Soundscape with crackle and annoying squeaks
(2:40) **Up-tempo Teutonic-techno with vocal sample
(4:28) Part swing, part trip-hop, with female vocals.
(4:44) Sad pop with male vocals
(4:19) Massive chords with vitreous high pitched melody
