Very nice album! Snowboy's group plays some awesome Mambo/Jazz/Acid/Soul fusion--Latin flavored stuff that’s easy to hear and dance to. Snowboy leads on congas but leaves lots and lots of room for the other players to shine, especially Neil Angilley on Fender and Hammond and the fine horns. Play this CD frequently, all tracks are excellent, start with tracks 5, 2, 7, 6, 1 and so on.
1) *Big soul groove with percussion and horns, spacey Fender, vocals
2) **This song builds--begins with claves, trumpet, and conga--rest of band comes in to complete the mambo
3) Conga interlude
4) Rhythmic/choppy Hammond led percussion, more horns and an organ solo.
5) **Busy, lots of horns and more great Hammond. Dance!
6) *Groovy 70s sound from the keys and horns with prominent percussion.
7) *Slightly darker mambo, vocals
8) Up-tempo, sinister trombone led groove, spacey break on keys, long jam.
