Candlewyck, Candlewyck, votive records (2001) Candlewyck is an award winning newgrass group from North Carolina that is reinventing bluegrass music. They play high energy progressive bluegrass. I especially liked the instrumentals, but even their traditional bluegrass has unique elements. Best for me: 3 ,4 ,6 ,7 ,8 ,9 ,13 3:06 1. Med - traditional bluegrass with emphasis on vocal harmonies 2:52 2. Fast - Traditional bluegrass with fancy finger picking 3:21 3.* Med - BG instrumental. Memorial to Rusty, one of the man’s best friends 3:23 4.* Med - Civil war song about a child’s best friend (his dog!) 4:00 5.
