West of Wakefield - Cool, luscious pop. Makes me think of eating a creamsicle. Smooth and creamy, yet just enough tart flavor to make it interesting. The whole EP is quiet and subdued like a lazy summer afternoon. Guitars are full and fuzzy and the moog is great. It gives everything a nice spacey feel. Drums are actually interesting and have cool beats and the vocals are soft and mellow. It's mostly male vocals except the last song brings out the female vocals. All songs are good. I totally loved this. My Picks: 1, 3, 5 Katie P. 8/9/01

1) Sweet midtempo bounce. Cute organs and fuzzy guitars. Nice harmonies on vocals. Playful and fun. Nice breakdown in the middle.
2) Dragging swing tempo with a cool drum beat. Quiet and soft. Builds up at points with the occasional spacey weird sound in the background. Nice full guitars alternating with quiet noodling guitar line.
3) Quiet guitars then a fat bass line kicks in, but it's still slow midtempo. Cool spacey organs. Overall very quiet, subdued song until the last minute where they rock a bit harder at times.
4) Midtempo beat with full fuzzy guitars and kooky organs. Nice vocal harmonies.
5) Slow start with moog out in front. Both male and female vocals on this one. Nice vocal harmonies. Gets to a midtempo swing beat. Ends with a long moog solo. Fades out around 40 sec. left, silence for about 10 seconds and then piano/keyboards come in with a sweet little tune.
