Bleckmann is a male vocalist with a high, clear voice, a New Yorker who hangs with the likes of Mark Dresser, Chris Speed and Jim Black. Here, he goes for a floaty, surreal atmosphere anchored by accessible and pretty melodies, even on the weird tracks like #9. It's not your typical jazz singing, but it's not that far out, either. Crystalline vibraphone and washes of electric guitar/bass add to the whole feeling. As a side note, look at the number of languages he sings in! *2- Slow, misty. In French. *3- Gentle, pretty. *4- Delicate and slow, in Japanese. 5- Sparse midtempo 6- Meditative 7- Soft jazz with electronic manipulations, as if the CD were catching. Really annoying. 9- Slow with industrial noises *10- Midtempo Brecht song, in German |
