At first I thought this a Neil Young spoof band a la Natl Lampoon. But the music is dead serious and quality twangy alt folk western. Learning that this guy is from Norway only makes it more strange. After the twangy falsetto voice subsides (with my laughter) this becomes some of the finest alt shoegazer western ever. Sure enough the Europeans spit it back in our faces better than before yet again. Later songs drop the falsetto and smack of Mazzy Star, et al. Great shit. 1) upbeat minor 2) midpaced 3) western Spanish 4) slow-mid 5) super slow w/ organ, no drums 6) banjo centered waltzy ballad, minimal 7) mid paced full band, fuller slick good sound 8) dark themed waltz, slow 9) slow w/ nice vibrato guit, reverbed vocs 10) lower fi upbeat strummy hillbilly flare 11) slower waltzy, dark, banjo, organ 12) live single mic acoustic ballad, slow, impressive vocs, dark… ends after 4 min then 1 minute of silence followed by another take |
