Your Imaginary Friend Reviewed 2002-08-25 | ||
Yay-yeah vocals, swampy roots gear head type rawk and roll. Some of this reminds me of Lynrd Skynrd though I’m sure nobody would agree. Still there are 12 bar boogie guit chords with bar-room piano accompaniment (sometimes) and swampy guit licks. Of course the power chords and upbeat “yay-yeah” insolent vocals keep them in the garage roots punk bin. Sure these are pasty Seattle-ites channeling their inner redneck (seems to be a common theme these days), but they really do rock. 1) upbeat rootsy rock swampy with piano 2) upbeat driving 3) big power chords rockin like old Joneses 4) mid-slow boogie rock 5) juicy FCC 6) upbeat driving 7) piano returns in front for a mid paced rockin’ boogie woogie skynrd feel 8) midpaced boogie 9) hard drivin’ rawkin with ultra mega epic ending 10) swingy midpaced dirty boogie rock, cool |
