Free-jazz session based on some very good mainstream composing. Pianist Michael Jeffry Stevens keeps a healthy '60s bebop vibe going, while trumpeter Herb Robertson shows off his avant-garde chops (1,3) as well as his more sensitive side (4,8). Great stuff -- not a bad track in the bunch. *1- Very nice piano riff with bold soloing *2- Quiet, compelling little groove 3- Fast, cluttery *4- Slow and pretty 5- Pleasant midtempo jump 6- Mid/fast burble *7- Breezy midtempo, nice '60s-ish piano figure 8- Slow | ||
