This is really good intelligent creative pop: a strange mix of pop and Spanish flavored pieces w/ far out space themes of love and failure. Garagey organs permeate along with simple likable female vocs constrasting with male ones. One second this sounds like the Pixies, the next second something like Calexico, then like old Kinks. Don’t let the strange liner photo fool you into thinking this is geek rock. Don’t stare at the girl too much, she’s from another planet. All tracks good.

1) gargey rocker, mid paced, pixies’esque
2) cha cha cha Spanish flamenco flare w/ castanets and male/female voc trade offs, nice
3) simple guitar, turns carnivalish waltzy w/ male lyrics, brief
4) simple rock w/ trippy organs, nice pop about Pluto
5) upbeat urgent low fi power retro pop
6) simple slower pop rock a la Nick Lowe
7) upbeat silly fun pop surfy, punk, B-52s’ish, smart
8) folky Waits carny feel with organ and 2/4 beat
9) slower pop ballad
10) dark ode to a bullfighter
11) samba jazz en enspanol, girl singing
12) simple strummy ballad
13) strange disjunct collage of many elements, from castanets to moog to Wurlitzer to bagpipes, even prog-jazz, strange
