Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend

Avante experimentalism, single note drones, great soundbed material. NYC composer along the lines, conspirator of Richard Lainhardt, Eliane Radigue, the type of stuff that Eno emulated on his brilliant Music For Airports. Stark hypnotic minimalism, pieces dating back to 1979. For more info read the liner notes.

CD1:

1) slightly wavering long tones generated by brass, spliced and looped, drone hypnotic
2) same constant layered drones, this time generated via Digeridoo
3) drones with synth characteristics but on closer listen sounds to be a pump organ or accordian (actually a sax)
4) similar to 3 but a little denser

CD2: more intense drones

1) trombone single note layers and layers, oscillate, mesmerize, evolves to lower register sounding like an old multi-engine prop plane
2) like previous but more harmonic, lush
3) horns again, layered similar to previous, dense
