Soundscapes, pensive and often pretty. These are duets of trumpet and various tuned percussion (marimba, bells, xylophone, etc.), most tracks improvised, by two longtime Southern California buddies. Not always a perfect match; the trumpet's brashness sometimes crosses the zen-like air of the percussion (#2 being one example).

Very nice overall, though. A more creative and worthwhile alternative to new age music.

Pretty -- 2, 4*, 6, 11*

Abstract/improv -- 3*, 7, 9, 10

Almost jazzy -- 1* (fast), 8* (disjoint), 12 (slow)
