Outside jazz led by prolific east-coast violinist Maneri (on viola here). Stormy, dark, and often slow.

Even-numbered tracks are psychedelic jams, with Maneri adding effects that make his viola sound like a guitar! and with Craig Taborn doing cool electric piano, and Joe McPhee on sax. Great quintet work on these.

Odd-numbered tracks are solo improvs by each band member.

1*- Solo viola. Great atmosphere but very quiet, consisting of sparse squeaks.
2*- Slow jam, reminiscent of Talk Talk's last two albums
3*- Solo piano, starts slow, gets fast and tangly
4- Slow and eerie
5- Solo bass (William Parker)
6*- Big crashing jam, even gets rhythmic and funky near the end
7- Solo percussion; ghostly rattling
8- A slow tumbling chaos
9- Solo sax, hauntingly slow and flute-like
