Triage Music, 2002
TECHNO MINIMALIST / EXPERIMENTAL
Icelandic, instrumental, dark, not unlike some of Bjork's material. Extensive use of samples from interesting and unusual sources (clocks, voices, footsteps, ...) The album gets more melodic towards the end.
Fred's picks: 6, 8
01 - 05:38 - Minimalistic and humorous slow-speed tune, sampled voices, radio sounds, clock samples.
02 - 03:45 - gloomy mid-speed, organs, voice samples
03 - 06:09 - slow, no beat. Ocean samples, all kinds of whoosh, whizz and gasp sounds...
04 - 05:40 - Mid-speed beat, cracks, gasp and whizz sounds
05 - 06:32 - Nintendo-like lead synth metal klangs, drum machine beat @ 2 minutes.
06 - 04:54 - Arythmic sampled double bass, accoustic piano lead, which make it melancholic and weird.
07 - 04:32 - Church pipe synth, mid-speed beat picks up @ 1:30.
08 - 02:52 - Upbeat melody with vibraphone/bells-like samples.
09 - 05:36 - Mid-speed progression made with some interesting and quite difficult to identify samples.
10 - 05:54 - Organs, ghost sounds, flying insect, beat made with bizarre samples.
11 - 05:23 - Weirdness evolves into a warm and fuzzy mid-speed beat, still delivered with the most unusual collection of samples and voices.
12 - 02:15 - Strings, piano, metal klangs and glasses.
