Free jazz quartet in an upbeat post-Coltrane vein, featuring Bay Area legend Sonny Simmons, together for their second release. Most tracks are midtempo jams, starting with composed jazz riffs then shifting into fast-flowing solos by Simmons and fellow saxman Michael Maarcus. Recorded with a rough, informal feel, like a friendly afternoon jam. All tracks good.
*- Midtempo jungle beat, blazing solo by Sonny
*- Slinky, hevy jump
- Eric Dolphy tribute, includes twiny bass clarinet
- Slower feel, with two-sax soloing
- Quiet theme but saxes still blaze and sparkle
*- Mid/slow cosmic blues
