1) The title track. Smith’s clear voice is offset nicely by Pete Seeger’s raspy voice. Dean Ween (of Ween) plays the guitar on this track.
2) Starts with a modem sample that seems to have gotten in by accident. Smith’s voice is not as clear on this track as on the Bell. It has a slight Bob Dylan quality about it. Acoustic guitar, violin, clarinet. 3) dark antiwar folk song. Only Smith and a guitar.
4) Again only Smith and a guitar. The lyrics are a continuation of the lyrics in The Bell.
5) Pete Seeger reciting The Bell. 6) DJ Spooky’s remix. Folk music with a beat and looped eerie electronic music. 7) Ithaca folk singer, Tara Nevins from Donna the Buffalo covers The Bell. If you prefer female vocals, try out this track. The guitar picking and fiddle playing is quite nice too. 8) Live a cappella version at the Washington Monument at a peace rally. Only Smith as vocals.
