Free jazz trio led by Shoup's aggressive sax. Shoup is a skronky, noisy player from Seattle who's in good form here. Reuben Radding on bass and Bob Rees on drums are a spot-on rhythm section. Rees is particularly good, with lots of fast accurate rolls and a great sense of atmosphere. Nicely done.
Bass & drums fast on #1, cool interaction there
*- Fast; more exploratory than aggressive.
- Starts almost like a normal song! Includes a bass solo followed by some nicely aggressive playing.
- Improvvy clatter
- Aimless, but really blasts off after the drum solo
- Slow. Starts quiet, moves into ominous buzz/groans.
*- Very aggressive start and finish, true to its name.
*- Starts as smoky film-noir jazz.
- Fast but reserved, a nice track
