The Rusticators --- The Rusticators (ISART Music)
Local acoustic country duo who play lots of gigs around SF and SJ - Chris Amsler and Abby Linert -- they actually met on Craigslist and found a common interest in Gram Parsons. Gram's influences are here, as are elements of Emmylou Harris - ie folk singer/songwriters with a country feel. It didn't wow me at first, but then it grew on me with successive listenings. Chris and Abby trade off writing/singing songs to keep things interesting -- the lyrics are complex and heartbreaking, especially those written by Abby, who's a cancer suvivor.

1. mid - garden of eden metaphors
2. slow/mid - tragic, dark lyrics
3. mid - heartbreak, emptyness
4. mid - good melody,
5. mid - tragic/uplifting -- about her experience surviving cancer
6. slow/mid - loneliness
7. mid/upbeat - uplifting/hopeful
8. slow/mid - survival/strength - good slide guitar
9. mid -- heartbreak
10. mid - drinkin' tale
11. slow/mid
12. mid - lonliness/heartbreak
13. slow/mid
