Compiled as a labor of love, music inspired by the film "Two lane blacktop". Great stuff and some big names too.
*1. This song is an old favorite of mine so it gets a star even if it may sound dated to your ears. Sandy bull was a great fingerstyle musician and this is his take on an Irish folktune.
All these tracks deserve stars, really…
.Palace fans, here's Will Oldham w/Alan Licht. Song, then car story over laid back playing.
.sad lo-fi acoustic guitar instrumental
.Calexico do their desert best. Hot, dry, and empty.
.wilco- nice song for the old lady.
.great Fahey-like slide guitar.
.very quiet intro (noise/laughter) until about -4:00, experimental, 80's hometaper feel. one of the weaker tracks.
.good guitar and high lonesome vocals
.slow, mellow, picks up some, countryish
.giant sand and Calexico on the same comp? Well I won't complain. Seems kinda tossed-off, still a decent instrumental
.extra-sparse. guitar noises and feedback
.scratchy old blues ode to a Californian
.SY do good loopy noise with other noises, arty & engaging
.we already have this. acoustic fem "satisfaction"
.long rock guitar instrumental from Roy Montgomery
