Septet with a happy big-band sound, like drunken wedding celebration music. Loud, fun, accessible stuff, tuneful and packed with short solos. Many tracks are mini-suites, zooming through multiple themes and moods, almost always with someone soloing on top. Lots of European touches too (a violin thrown in with all those horns, for starters.) 1- Happy waltzy swing 2*- Series of big upbeat themes. Piano intro recalls "Misterioso" 3- Midtempo 4- Soft, with loud "Frere Jacques" ending 5- Calm groove, gets faster in 2nd half 6*- Upbeat ragtime/vaudeville, a bit cartoony 7*- Starts mysterious, ends with a cool, fast tribal pulse 8- Happy bouncing tuba 9*- One big joyous finale, midtempo | ||
