Art rock? Experimental rock? Progressive rock? Math Rock? Yup. This ensemble is led by Bill Brovold who writes most of the stuff plays the guitar, piano, and bass along with the drums on a few tracks. Each song winds and twist, yet there are still riffs. There are no vocals. The guitar seems to be the center of the attention and it reminds me a bit of Robert Fripp and Glenn Branca.

**1. Starts quiet with just a handful of string instruments (guitar, bass, cello, and violin). The guitar riff sneaks its way in. Not far from King Crimson. It twists and turns and then after 4 minutes, when it feels like the track is over, it just gets quiet, it stays pretty and melodic for a couple minutes it starts to pick back up then in a nice surprise the guitar gets angular and choppy while the rest of the band stays were they are. A really great track.
**2. This track also starts quiet….but stays quiet for a while sounding a bit like God Speed You Black Emperor. About half way through the rest of the band joins in this funeral precession. Just when you think they are about to rock they go back to ambient sounds. The track starts building again and peaks with about a minute left in the track.
3. Classical sounding to start, then into some tight, repetitive strings. After the song peaks there is a odd, almost jazz sound that is slow and sad. Strange.
4. Quiet shimmering major chords that go on for about half the track. I’m not sure I like when the drums come in, there is almost-light-jazz sound that does match the beauty of the first part.
5. Spends the first 7 minutes building up and sounds a bit like a quiet Bardo Pond track. Finally starts rocking at the 8 minute mark. When it rocks, guitars sort of shimmer and the rhythm section plods along.
Really good stuff. -mph
