Think of the noisy New York City punk energy of The Stooges, The Cramps, and The Germs all rolled up into one decent fucking band, at least early in their career. They fit right into the CBGB scene of the late 70s. It’s evident from Disc 2 why they didn’t make it very far – learning to play guitar (and showing it) can really kill a good punk band. There are still some great songs on Disc 2, and Disc 1 fucking rocks all hell!
Disc 1: 13, 3, 8, 6, 17, 18, 12
Disc 2: 13, 11, 9, 2

Disc 1: 13, 3, 8, 6, 17, 18, 12
1. furious, epitomy of nyc cbgb punk
2. midtempo assault with attitude. great chorus, great energy.
3. anthemic punk rock about getting zooed out. call and response.
4. midtempo, singing. i prefer the yelling.
5. lo-fi punk-pop sound with guitar solo
6. fast, needs to be faster. but great energy, stops, stutters
7. spy tune intro then often used verse riff. plate reverb vocals.
8. midtempo lo-fi super catchy rolling stones-esque energy
9. dirty guitar sound with a nice energy
10. midtempo, sexy anthem, very sexy.
11. slow midtempo epic song. so epic.
12. live. punk standard. (that should be an oxymoron)
13. live. great hard energy. persistent and urgent. i like a lot.
14. live. noisy guitar intro. a bit much of the guitar solos.
15. live version of #7
16. live. epic sounding midtempo song.
17. live. midtempo, anthemic, epic. with a great sweet (quiet) break.
18. live. relatively slow and sexy. repetitive but really great.
19. live. slow with quiet verse.

Disc 2: 13, 11, 9, 2.
1. midtempo, strummy guitars, not my favorite.
2. midtempo, popcheese but great, like the ramones’ pet semetary.
3. nice noisy guitar sound, but strummy. ok.
4. good intro, energetic. not bad.
5. midtempo, nice dark energy but too much soloing.
6. midtempo, soft, trying to be sexy.
7. decent midtempo catchy chorused song.
8. western chord progression sounds fresh in context, decent.
9. this is a good song. midtempo, good attitude.
10. poppy chorus.
11. rollingstones goodness.
12. another western strum type of song. better than #8
13. this is so fucking good! this is old nyc punk at its greatest.
14. poppy catchy riff. decent
15. 60s bluesy pop punked up
16. are they getting soft? really pop, but decent break.
