COLL: Traveler ’03 Label: Six Degrees Records This is more a BPM CD than a world CD. There is some nice world-y electronica on CD1, while CD2 (bonus CD) has a variety of rare remixes. CD 1: Try: 1,3,4,7,9. 1. Spaced-out Afro-Cuban dub featuring great vocals – really trippy electronics 2. Downtempo remix done by Richard Dorfmeister – chill and funky w/ reverbed effects 3. A spaced-out breakbeat D&B track that features female vocals from Eastern Europe 4. Tech-y trance track w/ intense Indian percussion and ethereal female vocals 5. Spanish hip-hop w/ some flamenco flavors 6. Electronica-ized new-age w/ exotic percussion 7. Electro-pop w/ exotic female vocals and lots of swirly synths & funky broken beat 8. Breakbeat w/ swirly synths and tweaky analog effects 9. Hi-energy breaks & big drop-beats & some nasty tweaks – cool 10. African chants and percussion & traditional melodies w/ mild electronics & beats CD 2: Bonus Disc: Try: 2,3,5,7. 1. Chants, synth swirls, jazz/funk loops, over a deep-house beat 2.
