This SF indie pop collective definitely fits in with the Elephant 6 sort of crowd. Brian Wilson idolatry and sun-shiney harmonies abound. Their multi-instrumentalism is pretty cool, though they seem to have a real fetish for sleigh bells. Great melodies, catchy hooks. If their next full-length is this good, we’re in for a treat. Spin this sucka’.

Best tracks: 2, 3, 5.

1. Short instrumental. Mostly acoustic guitar, a bit of recorder, some jingle bells.
*2. Meaty pop rock, bass and organ driven. Kind of psychedelic-y.
*3. More of the same, with whispery vocals and some horns. More sleigh bells? Well, it’s a good song.
4. Lots of 60’s bounce. The most Beach Boys-y of the lot.
**5. Starts with languid trumpet and strummed acoustic guitar, then breaks into some awesome accordion and sax. Great song! But man, are they crazy about those sleigh bells...
6. Instrumental with lots of slide guitar and a bit of organ. After 1:25, there’s silence till 7:10, at which point there’s some backwards drum loops and trippy synths.
