Rock. (as opposed to one of the fads that passes for rock...) Guitar/bass/drums no fancy effects, just distortion. Good, creeps up on you. This is Karl's first record in five years. The songs are longer but still have the dark take on life.
+1. mid-fast. Literary references here, name-drops Wallace Stevens.
+2.midtempo, milder, more melodic. FCC says "shit" + "fuck" once each, hard to hear still check the lyrics
3.slow, less distortion
++4.midtempo, minor key rock, yay for the fuzz
+++5.faster. moves nicely. great vocal delivery. nice list of pathos.
6. mid. says FCC "bullshit" once. a different version was a 7" single
+++7.mid-slow FCC says "fuckers". This would be an epic ballad, if done by a band that did epic ballads.
++8.At 13 minutes you might think this is an epic ballad- but it's not a ballad- after a few minutes gradually goes from a pretty easygoing couple of riffs to chunky rock jam- rocks out and comes back again for the coda.
