Bembeye Jazz Nacional was founded in 1961, retired in 1988. This is their first recording since then, and it’s pure Afro-pop guitar heaven (plus vocals, brass, and percussion). This is a showcase of their greatest hits and it’s wonderful stuff.
1. Light, bright, bouncy, fun. Great horns.
*2. Great funk for guitar/horns/voices.
*3. Soaring vocals, a great groove.
4. Slower w/Hawaiian guitar strains.
*5. Midtempo w/a catchy rhythm.
*6. Uptemo w/a lightly joyful feeling.
7. Starts relaxed, picks up. Nice work from the band.
8. Mid/up-tempo, gets into a nice groove.
