Abstract improv duets: guitar and clarinet/sax. Derek Bailey's toneless clatter matched with high-pitched answers from Gjerstad's reeds. Nice work from both, building substantial pieces. One complaint: Gjerstad often hits painfully shrill squeaks (1; end of 5; 6).
- Mid/fast paced, not particularly aggressive or blurry
*- Mostly casual pace, w/quiet start. Sax gets frenetic near the end.
- Stark and aggressive
*- Fast, fluid
- Starts contemplative, with sinewy clarinet over choppy acoustic guitar chords. High, squeaky, and fast at the end.
- Slow, starts melodic
