From Berlin, Monolake offers dark, moody IDM built on very minimal tribal beats underneath echoey industrial-type sounds. While some of the tracks are catchy and draw the listener in quite effectively, others have such a slow development that they seem endlessly repetitive. Nevertheless, there are a number of great grooves here.
1, 3, 5
1. slow midtempo, dark minimal beat. echoey industrial sounds.
2. distorted static-y synth over slow driving dub beat w/ some glitch
3. forward moving dark minimal beat
4. distant tribal beat w/ sustained quiet synth noise-drone
5. dark rolling beat w/ scary synth noises
6. simple industrial dance beat
7. repetitive, minimal midtempo beat, really slow arching development
8. upbeat tribal percussion alternates w/ minimal beat
9. tubular drone sound
