Acoustic folk-blues, minimal and down-to-earth. Some of the songs have a Mersey-beat feel, oddly enough. Male vocals, either solo, unison, or harmony. Mid-tempo. No drums on most of the tracks. The sparseness and ad-hoc esthetic belie the high quality of these songs. Second album by this Fargo, North Dakota duo. Start with 1, 3. FCC: track 7.

==> 1. Starts with acoustic guitar that could almost be The Feelies. Then drums & maracas & piano come in and song turns into good 'ol retro acoustic-folk blues-rock. Ends with a few beats of just drums.
2. Starts with 30 secs of just guitar. Acoustic guitar and harmony vocals. No drums. "My head is underwater, baby, and my finger's in the flame, but I guess that’s what I need to keep me sane." 5:23 long.
==> 3. Bouncy, syncopated guitar plus unison vox. A great acoustic retro-pop (sort of Mersey-ish) song. "Don’t you settle down and go!"
4. Slow, melancholic love ballad. A touch of organ along with the guitars.
5. Retro torch folk ballad. This one has drums. Lower-fi than the others here.
6. Angst/traveling ballad. Starts with one voice and one guitar, gets unison singing and two guitars for the chorus, multiple guitars and voices by end. "Goin' down to El Paso, Goin' to miss my friends."
7. FCC: "oh shit" at beginning. Doo-wop style drunken ballad. Starts with talking, laughing, coughing, tuning up. Music starts 27 seconds in. A touch of organ.
