Sound art, from France. French composers. A document of an exhibit at the SF MOMA last fall that involved hours and hours of sound art. This is 12 snippets of the experience, consisting of mostly chill avante 20th Century composer type material, but also includes some noisiers droney stuff. See the liner notes for excellent synopsis/history on French electronic sound art.

1) layers of soothing harsh noise, think early NON
2) quiet, nice field samples fade in and out, ambient
3) very quiet fade in, w/ bells, sparse
4) chill sparse bursts of organic sound
5) chill, avante 20th century composer feel
6) very slow to build, creepy scary sci-fi feel, gets intense
7) noisier, collage-like, trippy, cool
8) low noisey fade in, creepy like Daniel Menche
9) starts blippy, chill, ends with spacey drone then falls apart
10) electronic noises, white noise, halting, very “shortwave radio”-like
11) starts w/ very subtle hiss and crackles builds into white noise- sounds like a transmitter failure
12) spacey w/ subtle pulsing heartbeat, turns electro-beat, experimental and ends cold
