Fan tributes to Throwing Muses w/some Kristen hersh solo covers thrown in for good measure. Much of this has a home-made popster feel, some covers are different genres, a few tracks sound pro.
1. a little trip-hoppy, nice piano, pretty fem harmonies
2. electric guitar, guy then girl singing, girl sounds a lot like Kristen Hersh. Minimal, just them and the guitar, one overdub.
+3.mid-slo, middle speeds up. .nice guitars, bass high in mix, hippie bongo, 60’s style vox
+4.Me-TAL! Tight and mainstream (bet they’re metallica fans). This gets a plus because it’s pretty different from the original.
5.drum machine and acoustic guitar, male voice low in mix. Ho-hum
6.mid-slow 3/4 time.neat sound, synth strings, vocal trio
7.homemade IDM, thump thump. Montonic male vox.
8.a little slower than the original. 80’s pop. guy sings. reminiscent of early Mag Fields (oh wait this guy records w/Mag fields! ok.)
+9.nice bass, bad drug under skin angst. wish it was longer.
10.male vox harmonies, acoustic guitars, bass, no drums
11.midtempo, western-folkie, fem sing, guitars and piano.
12.muddled, heavy-handed production mars some nice singing
+13.kraftwerky pop. Spoken male vox too loud.
14..Guitar pop, do a head bobble.
15.slow guitar then overdone mess.
+16.FCC:”shit” at 2nd line. Good fem-diva vox, trip hop beats
17.mid-slow, alto fem voice, sludgey, fuzz bass, (slide)guitar, heavy drumming
18.starts w/25 seconds silence, slow quiet fade in, abstract drone. (It’s a cover of Garoux des Larmes, dammned if I can hear how.)
