Laid-back, twangy guitar-driven sound. According to the internet, people like this band. I’m not entirely convinced. Androgynous female vocals are great - knowing, wistful, at times aggressive. Instrumentation is interesting and solidly executed. Many tracks let down by inane, repetitive lyrics. Nice, but not exactly life-changing.

1 - Harmonica, guitar riffs, a bit retro, downbeat
2 - Aggressive, but doesn’t get out of first gear
3 - FCC “Fucking” x many - slow and whiny
**4 - fun, ridiculous, upbeat celebration of Portland
5 - jaded without irony, formulaic angst; honestly, other bands do this better
*6 - slow, very country, has a trumpet for that ‘Mexican’ effect, but I like it
*7 - synthesizer and piano work well with sparse lyrics; a sly dig at consumer culture
8 - drum heavy, attempt at seductive but hard to take seriously given terrible lyrics
9 - hope this isn’t about the famous Che, because that makes it even more meaningless and hopelessly adolescent
*10 - full-textured instrumentation is great support for insistent vocals
