Federico Aubele: Granhotelbuenosaires Label: ESL Music Yes, Aubele is on the Thievery Corporation label, ESL Music. That means this CD has some serious dub on it. Yup. Time to chill. Essentially, this is Latin (Argentinian-influenced) dub - taking wonderful vox and traditional Latin-American instrumentation & melodies, and mixing it w/ some serious bass-y stone-y beats. Some of this is quite good. Try: 1,2,5,9,12 1. Space-y dub w/ breathy vox - dig the stone-y bass 2. Heavy trip-hop beats w/ sexy vox 3. Has that smoky Latin guitar strum - and those space-y dub beats/synths 4. Serious dub here, heavy beats & reverbed effects & samples 5. A bit more dance-y/funky groove here, sexy vox, w/ that Latin guitar strum 6. Sad-sounding love song w/ deep dubby bass & strumming guitars 7. Dub beats & sampled vocal speaking 8. Has a traditional Latin lullaby feel 9. Kind of a pop-ish love song - but nice 10. Space-y warbled vocals, breaks into seriously bass-y dub 11.
