Bay Area Thrash Devast

Yet again, there’s another crop of massively kick-ass hardcore in the Bay Area. All of these bands have something interesting to offer & all have a fairly unique take on punk/hardcore’s past, present & future. There’s some severely good shit on here so...let's fuckin’ go !!!

SIDE A:
(((((1))))) Look Back & Laugh: Noisy, HEAVY, raw & PISSED sounding, mid-tempo h.c. Sounds like...aw fuck it - just listen!!!
(((((2))))) Desolation: Wickedly slicing & menacing crust-core ‘ala all the greats from Finland, Japan, U.S., UK, Sweden & Brasil. "Dis-core" ‘dis ain’t!

SIDE B
((((1))))) This Is My Fist! : Super-KILLER melodic h.c./punk with female vocals that sound a bit like Kim from the Muffs.

((((2)))) Funeral Shock: WILD-ass West/North/East Bay triad mixing Black Flag, Void (D.C., duh!), Negative Approach, Necros (the early Necros, not the shitty metal band they later became). FCCs: “Shit” (3 times)

((((3)))) Case of Emergency: Ultra-raw with clanging percussion but the vocals are understandable. Awesome guitar sound, mid-tempo. Something like Aus-Rotten at 1/2 speed? (And yes that’s a GOOD thing as Aus-Rotten fukkin’ rules!)

SIDE C
((((1)))) Deadfall: Fast & angry a bit like Citizen’s Arrest, D.R.I., Poison Idea mixed with Negative Trend on speed with awesome backing vocals.
((((2)))) Lights Out: Lots of that classic hardcore sound like 7 Seconds & whatnot but rawer sounding. Look out this one’s rather short!
((((3))) Our Turn: KILLER current-era youth crew with a bit of Minor Threat, early 7 Seconds & Gorilla Biscuts thrown in the mix.

SIDE D
((1)) Uzi Suicide: Raw & weird vocals a bit like Lack of Interest. Overall, rather fast hardcore that’s totally wacked out.
(((2))) Uzi Suicide: a better sound this time, a mix of fast-core with some death-metal like vocals (think Master)
((((3))) Voetsek: Devastating drums via Scotty Karate & Ami Lawless malicious vox! The V-Beat Army is coming and YOU’RE on the LIST!
(((4))) & (((5))) Brutal Death: - Yep, this is brutal alright. Two short blasts of ugly & scatching grind boarding on noise core
