A superb live recording of Jordan and company in fine form. Jordan plays free jazz firmly rooted in the 60s, while Futterman and Fielder have a more modern style. Jordan leads the way with a ton of soul and plenty of tension and release points along the way. The music doesn’t actually stop during the performance, so the tracking is a bit random and all tracks (except the encore) blend in to each other.
x1. Spoken intro.
2. Starts sparse with whistle, then forceful
*3. Heavy sax improv, gets bluesy at end
4. Mostly drum solo
*5. Big buildup, then a release
6. A brief rest, then back off again (ends w/ intros and applause)
*7. Expansive bluesy ballad (encore)
