Album Review

Brooks has assembled an impressive cast of musicians for this disc, it's too bad he doesn't have more for them to do. The compositions have that generic "world music" feel, which is frustrating since you know the players here are better than this. Haque and Eckhardt put in a couple of nice solos but you're probably better off just listening to a Garaj Mahal album instead. Hussein is on this disc in name only, he pretty much phones it in the whole time.

1. Languid "world music" vibe
*2. A little spark here, with boomy percussion
3. Cheesy ballad
*4. More upbeat, decent solos
5. Late night melancholy
*6. Med tempo funky
7. Lame slow noodling
8. More lukewarm "world music"
