Quirky mix of chirps, squeaks, scratches and vocal noises that slide in and out to make a constantly changing texture over driving, very danceable beats. Tongue-in-cheek, at times hilarious. Some tracks very short. Everything on here is good, all fairly similar. Lots of fun. Recommended: 4, 15, 8 (for bizarre factor), 12, 16 1 - electronic 'tune-up' falls into a lazy swing. Few layers, fairly short. 2 - slow to mid-tempo, cute vocal noises, quiet ending 3 - mid tempo. random noises unified by a hilarious synth handclap rhythm. 4 - fast beat, liquid sounds, caribbean feel, happy melodic line reminiscent of steel bands and trumpets. very groovy. 5 - lots of static, harsh noises, fairly intense. 6 - piano chords over chirps and whistles, with driving, heavy beat. 7 - very fast, with sparse sounds. Jumpy electronic melodic line 8 - a man talking about sick pigeons to slow funky beat. radio tuning effect brings in various crazy stuff over the top. "I'm a sick pigeon" indeed. 9 - Layers of different beats. 10 - Slow, swinging beat. Industrial sound, assembly line style samples 11 - Mid-tempo, wind-tunnel type sounds under a bunch of melodic fragments 12 - Fast funky beat, jazzy melodic samples. Full-textured sound, with whispered vocals (can't make out the words). some chat at end. 13 - light sabres. Very short. 14 - Very chill. Minimal layers over the top. 15 - Syncopated mid-tempo with echoing effects, very open air sounding. Reminds me of vultures or crows. Great whispered male vocals. 16 - More of the factory assembly line, with a bossa nova beat and rolling thunder. | ||
