Like a calmer Keith Jarrett, Kimbrough spins piano pieces with pleasant melodies and some tangly tricks embedded in the soloing. This is a piano trio disk with a very "nice" sound overall and plenty of creativity in a mellow kind of vein.

Also check out the Herbie Nichols Project, which features these guys (and more) playing the neglected compositions of Nichols, a neglected '60s jazzman.

- Midtempo. Casually jaunty.
- Slow, relaxed
- Rolling midtempo. Lots of Keith Jarrett sound here.
- Mid/slow. Dramatic and tumbling with slowly free-falling drums.
- Jangly. Fast bass solo early on.
- Slow
- Mellow and warm, nice.
- Playful and a bit off-kilter
- More Jarrett feel; mid/fast rolling based on a nice little theme
- Mid/slow. Serious tumbling and (soft) crashing.
