These definitely are early recordings, with less-than-optimal sound quality. But ignore that and focus on her voice. She’s the “Queen of Fado,” and she has the emotional quality of a Portuguese Edith Piaf. There are some folk songs thrown in, but the best stuff are the fado tracks, where her lush voice all but drips heartbreak. All good, especially:

1. A light and happy folk tune.
3. Soaring vocals, gentle guitars. A good representative of work.
4. Lively guitars and wonderful passages of vocal expertise.
6. Sad and full of longing w/subtle guitar work.
7. A gentle mid-tempo folk tune.
9. Rich vocals w/a gently emotional quality.
10. Slow & tragic. Does anybody have a hanky?
14. A downtempo folk dance w/a sense of romance & sweetness.
18. Gentle and nostalgic.
