Kaiser and Smith channel Miles with a lot of good
help, including Zakir Hussein and Michael Manring.
They take his improv formulae and do their own
notes on top of it. Eras from Silent Way through
Agharta. Quiet, raucous, free form, bop, all here.
Some originals.
CD1
1) mid tempo, then slow blues, then amorphous
2) slow build, Bitches haunt the place
*3) meditational start, then rockout ala Jack Johnson
4) tabla/trumpet duet raga type intro, then caravan ,with a saz solo
5) fast bop
CD2
*1) slow almost draggy, loose horn lost in mist
2) continue 1, muted trumpet&guitar,
in a quiet way
*3) easy rollin, nonrhythmic tabla, wandering in a
dream, then space into scattered keys
4) long quiet groove, a sunday stroll,
man with a horn
5) sax/drum, slow meditative
6) snappy, more angular, but still mellow
