It’s almost impossible to sit still or be in a bad mood when you listen to these bouncy, infectiously upbeat dance tunes. Sure, polka can be kitschy, but that’s part of its charm. Here the late, great Polka King sings and plays with what can only be called “gusto.” Go ahead, you know you want to play this…
*1. Happy, fun, a great representative of the rest of the CD.
2. The lively and un-PC “she’s too fat for me” polka.
*3. A sweet mid-tempo love song w/old-fashioned charm.
4. Bright and bouncy…like a skating rink song.
*5. Big, fun and deliciously cheesy. It’s a classic.
6. Instrumental mid-tempo waltz. Nice organ-based shmaltz.
*7. A funny. Lightly bouncy song about getting drunk.
*8. Another classic w/claps, vocals and lots of fun.
9. Slower, an old-fashioned love song w/nice flourishes.
10. An energetic, toe-tapping romp.
11. Doris Day on vocals in a happy version of a standard.
12. Sweet ode to the girl he left behind.
*13. Warm, bright & catchy.
*14. Wacky, weird, and wonderful fun. Yay!
