Mellow, introspective set from Spring Heel Jack and a group of talented improvisers. This disc is definitely not as wild as their previous disc, though Evan Parker does provide plenty of jagged improv. Smith is in full Miles mode throughout, and the Spring Heel Jack guys have gotten pretty good at adding in the right amount of electronic sheen. *1. Quiet late-night introspection *2. Jagged stabs of sound **3. Grinding and screeching over pop organ, indie rock anyone? 4. Squirrely improv 5. Weirdly dramatic 6. Slow, stately with pensive sax *7.
