A collection of 12 songs performed by Calister who belongs to the Dutch Antilles and sings in a language called Papiamento (cf. liner notes). Great compositions in the Afro-Carib Jazz style delivered solidly in Calister’s warm and powerful vox, with able support from the string quartet that performs on nearly half the tracks on the album. A sparkling example of what world music is all about.

Track 1: Midtempo ballad with strong emotional vibe

Track 2: Dancey and pretty, mid-tempo

Track 3: Uptempo, dancey, festive. Raspy vocal delivery

Track 4: Warm blues-y solo (think Norah Jones), opens with some great finger plucking

Track 5: Slow ballad performed to a constant, intriguing mettalic backdrop (sounds like the clinging of butcher knives)

Track 7: Poppish and dancey, flirty vox, mid-to-up tempo

Track 8: Rich, heartfelt slow tempo ballad with piano

Track 9: Midtempo Afro-tribal dance ritual

Track 10: Swirling, midtempo, dancey

Track 11: Slow ballad, similar to #8

Track 12: Percussive jam with Luz and choir, Tempo and tension increase as track progresses
