Five bands, ten songs, a single mood – restrained beauty. The producers have done pretty well at their goal of creating a compilation that runs as a unified piece. The bands share a similar soft-loud aesthetic but they’re going about it in slightly different ways.

1. Stately pace, sort of flat though
2. Pensive and sparse
3. One of Sigur Ros’ more majestic pieces but low key and unflashy
4. Nasty language that the FCC would disapprove of; otherwise solid, slow, and ominous
5. Excellent stripped-down version of reverby rifferama from Kinski
6. Starts out as quiet organ, explodes into godly power, then slowly reverses
7. A mild-mannered hoedown, of all things
8. Pretty song, just acoustic guitar, voice, and a violin (or two); another FCC
9. A small percussion loop and an even smaller organ bit coming and going; eerie
10. Buildup, explosion, fade into noise
